This is more than a typical stud finder. It does function very well to find a variety of items hiding behind walls...like studs, metal, wires, etc. I've also used the moisture tester. Very easy to measure moisture with 2 prongs. Came in handy to show me when the moisture level in my treated wood was acceptable to be stained. It also has an infrared attachment. I have not used it yet but looking forward to it. Many other features as well. This tool replaces a lot of other tools.
I needed an upgrade to my measurement toolbox and decided on this unit since it appeared to do it all and it does. What I was most impressed with was the temperature readings. I could superimpose video with the heat readings and was able to easily find leaks by windows and doors.
