How to Calibrate LifeBasis Multifuntional Formaldehyde Monitor?

Put the device into a place of good air quality, let it aside for 5-10 minutes, double click the power button when the device stays at the interface.

The intial values of formaldehyde and TVOC are 1.999 and 9.999, the device needs manual calibration before working.

It seems to do what it promises.

The device reacts clearly to particles and although I don't have the means to calibrate its precision (except for the thermometer and the humidity meter, which is easily verifiable and in fact it was necessary to adjust it in the settings screen), I understand that it serves to get a fairly accurate idea of ​​what is happening around.

It was a reconditioned device and it arrived in perfect condition. Perhaps it gives the impression of being a somewhat "low quality" device, due to the type of plastic and design, very basic, but I suppose that is what you are paying for. So there is no complaint in this regard.

As an anecdote, it is curious that it starts beeping (the PM 2.5 goes up and such) when the neighbor starts smoking. Although you can still smell it, you begin to understand what you are detecting (and what you are not) with your own nose.

Excellent Air Quality Monitor for my 3D Printer workshop

I bought this indoor air quality monitor to monitor my 3d printing workshop, which I am using FDM and DLP printers which use some nasty chemicals. The Lifebasis Airquality monitor tests for many pollutants including Formaldehyde, Toluene, TVOC & VOC, PM - PM1.0/PM2.5/PM10 /Air Quality Index(AQI)/ Temperature/Humidity essential in my 3d printing workshop, there is an alarm function which I have never used. My only gripe is that it doesn't record a to a downloadable file which would be useful, but not anywhere in this price range anyway. It has a built-in a 2Ah rechargeable battery which lasts about 8 hours, although I leave it plugged when using. The readout is via a 2.8” colour LCD display which is easy to read. The function I really like is the ability to calibrate the monitor which I show in the video. Recommended.

Solid device for the money

Having used this for couple of months now I can say it's a solid device, especially for the money. As long as you interpret results with reason, e.g. when measuring vocs use relative to a good reading. In centre of London close to traffic vocs get above 0.5, particle count 20+. Away from traffic you get 0.1 and less than 5 respectively. Thoroughly recommended. Could be further improved by allowing history reading and connect to wifi.
